Ladies, I agree with those who have mentioned below that Soir is no longer the same. It seems like they went too far with it, as the top notes are different, and the longevity and projection are not what they used to be. It's a sign of the times, as many perfume houses are now moving towards lightness and transparency.

I have ordered samples of this MASTERPIECE three times!!!! It has a wonderful, bitter taste with the tartness of juniper..... A multifaceted chypre!!!! Not for the faint-hearted! I will definitely get the full-size bottle!!!! P.S. I had to give one sample to a colleague at work because my trail drove them "CRAZY"!!!!! The trail is kilometers long and mind-blowing!!! CLASSIC!!!!

For those who claim that the scent is not the same.
In 2009, the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) banned the use of natural oakmoss (an endangered plant) and significantly restricted the concentration of synthetic oakmoss (a potential allergen), as well as prohibiting or limiting the use of many other components (jasmine absolute, certain citrus notes). As a result, perfume houses were forced to either completely discontinue some fragrances or reformulate them according to the new requirements.
All chypre fragrances, where oakmoss is one of the main components, were affected. Therefore, the scent before and after 2009 may and will differ.
Also, it is important to consider that during delivery, perfumes can be shaken, and currently, it is winter with temperature fluctuations. Any fragrance should be allowed to settle at room temperature for a day or two after delivery in order to fully reveal its true character.
Yes, there is a difference between the old and new editions of Eau du Soir. However, in my opinion, considering the limitations, the creators did everything they could with the formula, and it is still magical, simply the king of chypres. Sharp, cold, and beautiful :) For those who are not fans of such scents or vintage fragrances in general, it is highly recommended to test it because it may not be suitable and it differs greatly from what has been trendy in the past 10-15 years.

I used to really like Ellips, but I wanted to try something different, so I bought Sisley Eau du Soir - there is something similar about them. My son said they were "sophisticated." I don't find anything in common with Paloma. Paloma is much softer and floral. There is some similarity with coriander, but it's superficial. The closest ones to me were Sherrer and Jivanxi-3. The latter is probably the legendary perfume that served as the prototype for this fragrance. I was amazed by their resemblance! I recommend everyone to test it. As for the scent, it is magnificent! Everything written here is correct - prestigious, expensive, and aristocratic. Not just flowers and berries, but something mature and refined. And it's not necessarily for those aged 30 and above. I received a sample, identical to PALOMA PICASSO, but I really love these scents, rich and intense. This is how real perfumes should smell, I want to constantly inhale them. There is no age limit for masterpieces...
