The Luna Collection Ursa is an incredibly warm, soft, and delightful fragrance crafted by Tiziana Terenzi, inspired by the constellation Ursa Major. This scent envelops you with its woody and spicy accords, evoking the harmony of nature. It opens with notes of dried fruits and rum, accompanied by the lemony-resinous nuances of elemi and dry nutmeg. The heart of the composition reveals vetiver, tobacco, and patchouli, while incense and olibanum add a distinctive oriental touch. The base notes feature vanilla, leather, and oud—deep, noble, yet delicate. This is a versatile fragrance suitable for both men and women, highlighting both strength and elegance, softness, yet resilience of the wearer, while offering unforgettable emotions and leaving a lasting impression on everyone around.
Top Notes reveal sweet yet subtle dried fruits, complemented by caramel-honey rum and spicy nutmeg. The resinous and slightly woody accents of elemi add a special warmth.
Heart Notes delight with the aromatic presence of vetiver and patchouli. Incense and olibanum introduce more oriental motifs, while tobacco adds a hint of smokiness.
Base Notes include sweet-spicy vanilla and a rather pure natural leather. Oud brings them together, melding the entire fragrance with wood and honey on the skin.
It's hard to distinguish the notes because everything blends into the scent of a veterinary clinic, with hints of camphor, iodine, honey, medicine, and sterility. It's very unpleasant. After a while, a noble and pleasant clean base emerges, but by then, it doesn't feel as rich. I was disappointed, especially considering the price.
Recently, I had the chance to try Ursa by Tiziana Terenzi through a sample at a flagship store in Monaco, so it's worth noting that my impressions might differ from those who have experienced it from a full bottle. Generally, I enjoy exploring niche fragrances with unique and unparalleled characteristics. Unfortunately, Ursa left me feeling somewhat overwhelmed, if not outright disappointed.
Upon first encounter, I couldn't help but associate its name with a rather unappealing scent profile. Regrettably, the fragrance seemed to bear a resemblance to what I can only describe as bear-like musk. Additionally, the dry-down seemed to carry a slightly sour note, reminiscent of another fragrance, Nasomatto Duro, which unfortunately doesn't align with my olfactory preferences.
Given Ursa's niche status, I anticipated a more substantial performance, but to my relief, it wasn't overpowering. In this particular case, the lack of strong projection was actually welcome, as I had no desire to be enveloped in its potent aroma. It's worth mentioning that while this scent doesn't suit my current taste, it might find a place in my collection at a later stage when I'm seeking a break from designer and vintage fragrances.
So, while I hope my feelings towards Ursa may evolve over time, my initial encounter did not leave a favorable impression.
The scent embodies strength, freedom, and sensuality. I absolutely love it and have been wearing it since 2016. It's a must-have. I always receive tons of compliments. I don't agree that it's more for men; to me, it's for the soul. This is actually my first-ever review. It's such an amazing fragrance, but just in case, give it a test yourself!
This fragrance is an incredible experience. Initially, it presents complex notes of oud, rum, vanilla, and tobacco, but they quickly fade. The sillage is amazing. Ultimately, it might not be to everyone's taste, especially for women of any age. The longevity is above average—not exceptional, but still much better than Killian's Straight to Heaven. I've seen people compare URSA to Brioni Eau de Parfum Essentiel.
Brioni features green apple, a spicy saffron opening with a vanilla-woody dry down, and a subtle hint of patchouli, with oud lingering in the background.
Ursa, on the other hand, has a fecal oud that develops into dried fruits, with an earthy-animalic, intoxicating trail complemented by smoky patchouli.
I bought this product without testing it first, relying solely on the fragrance notes: rum, patchouli, tobacco, nutmeg, and vetiver. I was a bit worried about the vanilla, but it doesn't make it too sweet. It's perfect in the morning and wonderful throughout the day. The scent is complex, rich, and unique, without any fruity or citrusy undertones. It's suited for those who are self-assured and confident. It might not appeal to everyone, so it's advisable to test it before purchasing.
This fragrance, strangely enough, is warm and reminds me of sniffing my cat's fur - not animalistic or sharp, but very warm and slightly sweet. I only wear it under my half-coat for my lumberjack look because the association with it is not fur, like in a fur coat, but rather something resembling sheepskin - pastel and honey-like. That's why I can only describe it as the scent of a "bear lady". P.S. My batch was from 10/2022 (AG098241). N.B.: Please do not judge the perfume and do not write a review here or anywhere else if you don't wear it fully and only buy a small sample version. Full wearing changes everything.
