Made in: India Basma is derived from the leaves of the indigo plant and is used as a natural hypoallergenic dye. In ancient times, basma was used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes, such as coloring hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes. On its own, basma creates a dark blue-green hue, so it is typically used in combination with henna for hair coloring. This natural hair dye allows for the creation of beautiful, natural shades such as blonde, golden-bronze, chestnut, and black.
Basma contains numerous biologically active substances and vitamins that have bactericidal and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps eliminate dandruff, improves hair structure, and stimulates hair growth. Therefore, basma is also used for treating boils and skin conditions, as well as for gum inflammation, sore throats, and tonsillitis.
It is not recommended to dye hair with basma alone—always mix it with henna. Henna neutralizes the blue-green tint of basma.
Before coloring, wash and lightly towel-dry your hair. Use gloves when applying the dye. Mix the required amount of powder with warm water (60-70°C) and stir until smooth. For deeper and more intense shades, it is recommended to let the dye sit for 1-2 hours, then add warm water and stir again. Apply to hair starting from the roots. The coloring time ranges from 20 minutes to 4 hours.
It is not recommended to dye hair with indigo alone – always mix it with henna. Henna neutralizes the blue-green tint of indigo.
For black hair color – mix 2 parts indigo and 1 part henna. For chestnut color – 1 part indigo and 1 part henna.
For a golden-bronze color – 1 part indigo and 2 parts henna.
For light brown color – 1 part indigo and 1 part henna (do not leave on hair for too long).
The longer you leave the mixture on your hair, the darker and richer the color will be.
Indigo and henna can be applied separately in the specified proportions, one after the other.
This step-by-step coloring results in cooler shades – natural light brown, brown, and chocolate, without any red or golden shine.
Indigofera Tinctoria.

I used a mixture of 2 parts indigo to 1 part henna from the same brand, brewed with extra strong boiled coffee, and left it on for 3.5 hours after putting on the cap. The result was that my gray hair took on a slightly yellowish tint... A wasted half of my day off. It seems like my gray hair can only be treated with chemicals.

I enjoyed using a mix of three parts henna to one part indigo; the color resembles dark chocolate. I brew it with hibiscus tea and butterfly pea flower, resulting in a shade without a yellow undertone, closer to burgundy.

I bought basma to mix it with henna in a 1:1 ratio. The color turned out beautiful, my hair looks great, and the gray is completely covered.

This product effectively covers gray hair and provides a very pleasant color when used with Natural Indian Henna. I bought the Lady Henna brand as a pair.

I do not recommend this product. It didn't cover my hair at all! I'm shocked because it's supposed to be henna, so I expected at least some effect. I ended up throwing the rest away since I bought it to cover gray hair. I'm very disappointed.

I ended up dyeing the bathtub, my hands, and my clothes, but not my hair. I left the dye on my hair for about 4 hours. It was a huge waste of time. The result: dry hair and nothing else.

Highly recommend! Great product.
To dye my waist-length hair, I mixed a 100g packet of this basma with two 30g packets of "Triuga" henna and added some "Bhringraj" Chandi oil. I applied the mixture to clean, dry hair and left it on for 2.5 hours. I rinsed it out using conditioner, without shampoo.
The gray hair was perfectly covered, and my hair looks beautiful and shiny.
Using natural dyes like henna and basma can be more time-consuming compared to chemical dyes, but your hair will thank you with its health and beauty.
Natural dyes are an excellent choice for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

I really liked the basma. I mix it with henna from the Triuga Ayurveda brand, using more basma because I want a darker color. I brew it with water at about 90 degrees Celsius and wait for it to cool slightly and thicken before applying it warm. I leave it on for 2-4 hours, depending on my patience and available time.
It colors my gray hair a dark brown. I apply it to clean, dry hair, then rinse it out in the shower without using shampoo. I avoid washing my hair for 3-4 days afterward to let the color set.replyDid this review help you? - Translated review★★★★★
I want to share my experience. I started getting gray hair at 16, and now 95% of my hair is gray. I didn't want to look like an old lady, so I regularly dyed my hair with chemical dyes. However, my hair grows very quickly, and after just two weeks, I needed something to cover the roots. Lately, I was dyeing it every three weeks. Then I decided to try henna and indigo. I bought henna and indigo from this brand and began experimenting. I realized that I couldn't achieve the desired shade on the first try, but over time, I've noticed how beautifully my hair is starting to look. I use one part henna and three parts indigo. Separately, I brew and boil two tablespoons of natural ground coffee in two cups of water for a few minutes. Then, I mix the henna and indigo with the brewed coffee to the right consistency. I place the mixture in a water bath and start applying it. I apply the mixture to clean, damp hair as soon as it reaches a comfortable temperature. Then I put on a plastic cap and wrap my head with a towel. It's important to keep the room warm, and occasionally, I use a hairdryer on the towel. I leave the henna and indigo on for three hours, then rinse it out and apply a hair mask to the roots and lengths to keep my hair soft and manageable. I avoid washing my hair with shampoo for at least 48 hours afterward. Patience is key when using natural henna and indigo, as it takes time to achieve the desired color. Adding coffee gives my hair a rich, chocolate color, which I find very beautiful. I tried it without coffee, but I didn't like the gray-brown result; I wanted chocolate. It took about 10 applications to achieve the color I wanted, but it's worth it because health is more important. Now, there's no obvious distinction between the roots and the dyed hair. When the roots grow out, they aren’t as noticeable as they were with chemical dyes. I hope this review helps someone. I recommend henna and indigo from this brand.

I dyed my hair using a mixture of henna and indigo in a 1:1 ratio and left it on for 1.5 hours. It didn't cover the gray hairs very well.

I recently purchased a high-quality product after not buying one for a long time. After coloring my hair with henna, it turned a beautiful chocolate shade. It perfectly covered my gray hair.

I regularly purchase this product and mix it with henna from the same brand, using more of it to achieve a darker hair color. It covers grays well and strengthens the hair. It's a great product.

I've been using this product for two years, and I really like it. My hair now has a rich, natural shade. I refresh the color every 4-5 months using the following mixture: 1 cup of freshly brewed coffee at room temperature, 2 tablespoons of indigo powder, 1 tablespoon of henna from this brand, and a few drops of coconut oil.

I sincerely thank the MAKEUP team for an excellent product. I was pleasantly surprised by its natural ingredients and the results it gave for coloring my hair. The 100-gram package is enough for three applications if you're just coloring the roots. I will definitely be ordering more!

I've been using this henna for many years and am satisfied with the quality. I use it together with indigo. While it doesn't cover my gray hair completely, the gray strands blend in with a lighter shade, creating a harmonious and natural look overall.
