Jil Sander No 4 Eau de Parfum

Sometimes it's important to be more informed. Just like fashion trends in clothing, the 1990s had their own fragrance trends. Perfumes from the '90s were all about concentration, intensity, depth, and a woman's challenge to her equality and self-sufficiency. Those years were the era of chypre scents. So, when people compare them to other brands, it doesn't mean they smell the same; it's about the preference for certain notes. After 2003, vanilla scents became popular. Before that, perfumes didn't have vanilla or candy-like notes. So, when I say this fragrance is akin to Chanel or Estée Lauder, I'm not saying they smell similar, but they share the spirit of that era. They are different. That's why Jil Sander No. 4 is a rich and dense fragrance. Yes, you need to test it, and in this case, it's essential. Like Chanel No. 5, which not everyone understands, some people buy it for the brand and its legendary status. They are wonderful, but not everyone will appreciate them, and not everyone can wear them.

This scent is definitely not for young ladies. I like the initial fragrance, but after a few hours, it changes completely. It's not suitable for a daytime walk in the park; it's more fitting for an evening at the theater.

I really loved the fragrance! I have been using it for almost a month now. The scent is absolutely incredible! The trail it leaves is beautiful, noble, and refined! I have received numerous compliments from men!

I bought it from a different store, but based on the previous review here, unfortunately, it's not at all similar to Knowing, Sikkim, or even Krasnaya Moskva, which I highly value. It's more similar to Gabriela Sabatini - my perfume nightmare, not exactly the same, but still very reminiscent. So I highly recommend testing it before purchasing.

Interesting scent! It reminds me a lot of Estee Lauder Knowing, but lighter and more feminine after the first application. I will definitely enjoy wearing it!

The fragrance is lovely, but a bit heavy to wear on oneself. It reminds me of Arabian perfumes.

I have a fondness for aldehyde amber scents. For some reason, I really wanted to try this particular one - based on the reviews, the price, the brand name, and so on. So far, my impression is that it's too complex for me. I want to get to know it better and understand it more deeply.

One of the most beautiful and elegant perfumes in my entire collection (and it's a very large one). It has a refined scent, yes - a little bit in a retro style, as they say here, but I would call it an eternal classic. It is absolutely wearable, current, and cool on my nose (by the way, I don't consider Chanel No. 5 or Yves Saint Laurent Opium as such - they are just collector's perfumes). The longevity is mind-blowing, the sillage is endless, and it requires very careful application. It will be liked by fans of Poeme, Cinema, Ma Jolie Noir, and Myths d'Amouage. And yes, it sounds prestigious, demanding of the situation and appearance, pompous, and not for everyday wear. Michel Almairac is truly a genius perfumer. 9/10.
