Once, Coco Chanel asked the renowned perfumer Ernest Beaux to create a scent that smells like a woman. In 1921, the classic and incomparable Chanel No. 5 was introduced. The fragrance's composition is incredibly complex, presenting a nuanced harmony without the dominance of any single note. In creating the scent, Ernest Beaux was the first to use a synthetic component - aldehydes. The fragrance opens with a combination of bergamot, neroli, aldehydes, and ylang-ylang. At its heart are lily of the valley, jasmine, and May rose. The composition concludes with notes of vanilla, sandalwood, amber, and Bourbon vetiver and patchouli.
I bought it a month ago and patiently waited for the moment when Red Moscow would become Chanel. But it didn't happen. The initial scent is strong and heavy, but then it doesn't develop, no jasmine, no lily of the valley, no citrus. Complete disappointment, even though before ordering it here, I tried wearing this fragrance in a well-known chain of stores. It's different there, real, maybe...
