The effect is great and the hair stays clean for 3-4 days, with added light volume for 1-2 days. I tried doing the same on clean dry hair and also experimented on the second day after washing (and I have dark and heavy hair), but then there were white spots, it doesn't distribute well, and the effect is not very good, no matter how much I spray. In short: it's up to you to decide whether to try it or not, but apply it to a clean head.
